Lure of the Labyrinth

Lure of the Labyrinth is a digital game for middle-school pre-algebra students. It includes a wealth of intriguing math-based puzzles wrapped into an exciting narrative game in which students work to find their lost pet - and save the world from monsters! Linked to both Common Core and national (NCTM) standards, the game gives students a chance to actually think like mathematicians.

You don't need to be a gamer, but you do need to be a teacher! Most of your students will figure out Lure of the Labyrinth's game play with little or no help. But they'll need you to make the connection between the math in the game and the math in your classroom.

In Lure of the Labyrinth, students are experiencing mathematics in a different way than they usually do in your classroom. But they are building strong connections that can be the basis for going further when you bring that experience into your classroom. That's why we think that playing the game first and then connecting that experience to your curriculum is the most powerful way to use the game and the materials in this guide.
